PA trip

We were thankful to be able to visit Matt's side of the family the day after Thanksgiving this year. Our trip lasted a week and a half and we had good weather for flying. Above is a picture of Dad, Beth, Mike, and Abby at the airport.

During our visit, Abby got her first hair cut. Here is a picture:

She did really well during the haircut. Pappy entertained her while we all watched.

One member of the family that we can't forget is Bootsie. He put up with Abby very well during the week and she loved him for it.

Dreaming of outdoors

As fall is definitely here and mornings are often down in the 30-something degrees, when we go outside during the day has changed some from a month or more ago. Abigail loves the outdoors and sometimes will sit or stand at the sliding glass door where she wishes to be outside rather than stuck in the house.

Abby prefers to run into bowling pins rather then roll the ball at them.

2008 Presidential Election

I'm taking a break from the usual pictures or updates related to Abigail today to address a link to a video clip I saw this morning. One of Matt's friends from Australia (of all places) sent us a link that showed clips of interviews with Obama and McCain on the topic of abortion. Since Matt and I do not have any TV reception, I have not actually seen the debates and various interviews with Obama and McCain so had not actually seen the responses on this video clip related to abortion. Some of you may have seen all of these before. The video is 3 minutes 52 seconds and is definitely worth your time. Click here for the video.

September update

I realize I haven't updated our blog in a while, so I'll try to give a brief update now.


Abby enjoys sitting in "Daddy's chair"...

She also loves sitting in her chair...

She is also enjoying walking all over (crawling is a rare now) and playing with balls (one of her favorite things)...

...and talking on anything that resembles a phone (toy phone, remote control, or calculator)...

She also spends a lot of time playing in "her corner" (which is actually the front of a folded up treadmill that is the perfect height for a seat for her) and loves playing with Daddy...

Abby also enjoys playing with Caileen...

Abby keeps busy all day and is rarely still except for sleeping (during which she still moves around a lot). She definitely has more energy than I do!

August update

We were supposed to be at the Parton reunion the first weekend of August, but we were home with Abby who had the chicken pox instead. Thankfully she didn't pick at them so they cleared up rather quickly. She probably had 150-200 spots in total.

The second weekend of August we had a Heatwole reunion. Abigail loved camping and she especially LOVED the wagon rides. She also enjoyed her cousins. Here are a few pictures of the weekend:

Abigail also started walking more this past week and will actually go 10-12 feet before falling. She's gaining more confidence and balance each day. We enjoyed seeing Matt's Aunt Mary Jane and Uncle Lloyd Nolt and Aunt Grace and Uncle Earl Martin all from Pennsylvania today. I haven't gotten any pictures uploaded since family camp a couple weekends ago. I will try to post more pictures soon.

Abigail often seems to think she needs one two hands. Since that's not an option, she will substitue and carry things in her mouth instead.

Yesterday we were able to visit Matt's family at the Kline reunion. We had a good time and enjoyed being able to see family again. Here is a picture of Grandpa and Granny with Abigail. Abby is playing with Granny's necklace.

Up up and away!

I will get update pictures put on here soon of Abigail. It's hard to believe that tomorrow she will officially be 11 months old already! It doesn't seem like it was that long ago that she was the little 4 lbs 10 oz baby that came home from the hospital. How much she has changed since then...

We're flying to Pennsylvania to see Matt's family this weekend and will get to spend a week with them. We're excited for them to see Abigail at her current stage of development and to introduce her to family that she hasn't met yet.

Under instead of in the jumperoo

Abigail used to love to bounce in the jumperoo. Now she does some of the time, but most of the time she prefers to roam about. For some reason she likes to crawl under the jumperoo and even sit under it at times.
